Body Treatments in
Marbella and Alhaurín de la Torre
With Medical Aesthetic body treatments you can obtain progressive results without having to undergo a surgical procedure. These are treatments in which we combine medicine and advanced technology to remodel the body.
Body treatments
It is increasingly common for people to want to improve their body and enhance their beauty as a way to feel good about themselves.
It must be specified that before carrying out any aesthetic treatment, the patient must undergo a medical examination to know whether or not the person can undergo the treatment they wish to undergo.
Body aesthetic medical treatments are procedures for which it is not necessary to go to the operating room, through which, either individually or in combination, we can improve physical appearance, thus gaining self-esteem and quality of life. In them we mix medical treatments (injectables, threads, collagen and elastin activators), and specialized advanced medical equipment, which does not require a prolonged recovery after the intervention, which must be performed by health professionals.
Some of these treatments are:
Treatments for sagging, treating the shortage of collagen in the body, thus helping to restore the firmness and tone of the muscle fibers.
Treatments for lipodystrophy (cellulite) that act on both the endocrine and lymphatic systems, blood circulation and the dermis.
Treatments to reduce stretch marks. Therapies that achieve the regeneration of elastin and collagen.
Thanks to them, fat accumulations in the body are eliminated. Therapies to improve the endocrine glandular system and adipose tissue.
Thanks to the innovative techniques of Aesthetic Medicine, it is increasingly easier to obtain good results without having to undergo surgery and everyone knows that the less invasive a treatment is, the fewer risks may appear and the less health suffers. Even so, it is advisable to put yourself in the hands of Aesthetic Medicine professionals to avoid secondary problems.
Hyperhidrosis is a primary or secondary disorder characterized by excessive, focal or diffuse sweating and most frequently affects the palms of the hands, but can affect any other region of the body. The disease can be classified topographically as symmetric and asymmetric. Sweating of the armpits, palms, and soles is most often a normal response to stress, exercise, or environmental heat; Diffuse perspiration is usually idiopathic, although in patients with compatible findings it should raise suspicion of tumors, infections or endocrine alterations. The diagnosis is obvious, although testing is sometimes necessary to detect the underlying cause.
History and physical examination, although it can be confirmed with iodine and starch tests. For this test, iodine solution is applied to the affected area and allowed to dry. The area is then sprinkled with cornstarch, which makes the sweaty areas appear dark. The test is only necessary to confirm the focus of sweating or for a semiquantitative assessment during monitoring of treatment with botulinum toxin. Asymmetry in the sweating pattern suggests a neurological cause.
Laboratory tests to identify the cause of hyperhidrosis should be based on the patient's other clinical symptoms and include, for example, a complete blood count to detect leukemia, blood glucose to detect diabetes, and thyroid-stimulating hormone to evaluate thyroid function.
Treatments include topical aluminum chloride, tap water iontophoresis, glycopyrronium tosylate wipes, oral glycopyrrolate or oxybutynin, botulinum toxin, a microwave-based device, and, in extreme cases, surgery.
Advanced technology
Radiofrequency is a technique that consists of the application of electromagnetic waves that stimulate the natural processes of collagen regeneration and increase blood circulation. Also, these electromagnetic waves generate a rapid rotational movement of the water molecules of the fatty tissue that are heated by friction, helping in the processes of localized fat elimination.
Body Radiofrequency is a non-invasive treatment that reshapes the figure by eliminating fat, cellulite and reducing body flaccidity. In addition, it helps in the processes of releasing toxins and improving circulation.
Capacitive Resistive Radiofrequency
Also known as capacitive resistive electrical transfer, it is an electrotherapy technique that bases its biological action on the transformation of a high relative frequency energy (0.5 MHz), which results in a significant increase in cellular and tissue temperature. Capacitive/Resistive RFM is based on the successive use of two techniques, first Capacitive Transfer, followed by Resistive Transfer.
The biological effects induced by Monopolar Radiofrequency (0.5 MHz) are evident, both on the face and body, and can be summarized in the following actions:
- Arterial vasodilation.
- Increases oxygen availability at the tissue level.
- Increased venous and lymphatic drainage.
- Greater permeability of the cell membrane.
- Acceleration of cellular repair processes.
- Restoration of cellular electrical potential.
- Activation of neocollagenesis.
Facial benefits:
- Lifting effect
- facial oval
- Wrinkles and sagging
- Bags and dark circles
- scarring acne
Body benefits:
- Remodeling
- Cellulitis
- Firming
- Postpartum
- Draining
- Scars and stretch marks
- Muscle relaxant
Cavitation is a non-surgical technique that uses low-frequency ultrasound technology to help dissolve localized fat. It works through devices that move over the skin and ultrasound waves that produce small bubbles in the fat cells. The result is the rupture of these cells, which become liquid. This fluid is removed by the lymphatic system and is finally filtered by the kidney and liver.
With this technique, circulation improves, toxins are eliminated and greater collagen formation is promoted, which translates into more elasticity in the skin. It can be used on the abdomen, hips, thighs, knees, calves, arms and back.
Cavitation and radiofrequency are non-invasive treatments to lose body volume. Its purpose is to combat cellulite and eliminate localized fat in the areas where these nutrients accumulate the most. In turn, this achieves greater skin toning.
These are painless procedures that do not require anesthesia. Its implementation is completely safe and it is often advisable to undergo both together to obtain better results.
The lymphatic drainage obtained with this procedure is achieved by placing the patient's body in a special suit that consists of several chambers that distribute air pressures depending on the objective of the treatment. It has been used with enormous success since the 60s for edema, alterations in the circulatory system, elimination of fluids and, of course, the treatment of cellulite. Stimulation of the lymphatic system, in addition to being a fairly simple technique, has become a very healthy treatment, since it not only offers immediate results, but also elevates the patient's body to a very pleasant state of relaxation and relief. Pressotherapy is also considered one of the best treatments to eliminate cellulite.
Benefits:
- Stimulates and promotes blood circulation.
- Reduces cellulite and adipose tissue.
- Reduce the volume.
- Eliminates fluid retention.
- Promotes the absorption of edema.
- Oxygenates, tones and restores skin firmness.
- Helps muscle recovery.
- Strengthens the immune system by promoting the elimination of metabolic waste.
IPL is a light technology capable of eliminating the traces left on our skin by the sun, stress and the passage of time. Known by the English acronym IPL. It is a rejuvenating treatment that favors the skin of the hands, neckline, neck and face, looking smooth and luminous.
The treatment must be carried out with completely clean skin, without makeup, creams, hair or any type of product. A cold gel is applied to the patient on the area, as it serves as protection for the thinnest layers of the skin, while facilitating the transmission of light energy. Both the specialist and the patient must use eye protectors so that the light beams from the device do not damage their eyesight.
The IPL acts on:
- Pigmented spots
- Veins
- Rough skin texture
- Hair
- Collagen formation
Light energy allows you to progressively improve texture and tone, eliminating enlarged pores, hair, redness, spots and small wrinkles in the deepest layers of the skin.
Liposonix permanently destroys fat cells under the skin without damaging surrounding tissues, in a single session that lasts approximately one hour. The body then naturally eliminates the fat cells in a process that can last between 8 and 12 weeks. The result is a more contoured and slimmer figure.
The main benefits of Liposonix are tightening, lifting and tightening the skin. In addition, it is possible to reduce the volume of fat by up to 4 – 5 cm per session, while reducing cellulite and providing elasticity to the skin. Another of its great benefits is that it can be performed at any time of the year, it does not require surgical intervention, the effects are long-lasting and the recovery time is minimal.
What is the Fractional CO? Laser?
The CO? laser has a wavelength of 10,600 nm, which belongs to the infrared spectrum, it has a moderately high absorption capacity by water. This laser beam targets intracellular and extracellular water. When this energy is absorbed by water-containing tissues, it vaporizes the surface of the skin. Depending on the temperature at which you expose the fabric, different effects will be achieved. If the temperature is less than 50 °C, it is called photothermostimulation, and collagenogenesis is favored. On the contrary, when we increase the laser temperature above 60º-80 °C, we are talking about selective photothermolysis, which entails tissue destruction and coagulation. Above 80º-100 °c, tissue ablation occurs. Currently, the most used CO? laser is the fractional type.
The FRACTIONAL CO? LASER does not completely eliminate the entire surface of the skin, but rather only a percentage of the epidermal surface, leaving untreated tissue. This is the great advantage of fractionated lasers compared to the old ones, since previously known lasers produced ablations in all the tissue to be treated, had a longer recovery time, and a greater risk of complications. Thanks to the fractional use of the laser, side effects are practically nil, and recovery time has been drastically shortened (Palacios et al., 2019).
The fractionated CO? laser began to be applied in the field of dermatology in the 2000s, in facial rejuvenations, offering very good results. In dermatology, CO?, or erbium, ER: YAG ( yttrium, aluminum , garnet) lasers are used , each of them reaches a different depth, so depending on the area to be treated there will be an indication for one or the other. The CO? laser reaches a depth of 20 to 60 μm, while the Erbium laser remains at 3 to 5 μm. Holmium lasers are also used in urology to perform prostate resections in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (Verma, 2020). In gynecology, its use is focusing on three main areas. The first of them is in the surgical area. In this area, the non-fractionated laser is used, focusing the light beam to section or vaporize the tissue while it coagulates. It is mainly used to promote tissue removal and tissue turnover. An example of this process is the use of lasers to eliminate certain condylomas (Peñalver Gaspar & SEGO, 2022). Another area in which the CO? laser is used in gynecology is aesthetics, here the so-called resurfacing, or remodeling, is used. To achieve the desired effects, the fractional CO? laser is used, which produces ablations and coagulations in sections of the epidermis and variable portions of the dermis, achieving the remodeling of the layers and promoting tissue regeneration with better quality layers (Peñalver Gaspar & SEGO, 2022).
